The Thames Valley Business & Community Awards celebrates the region's business community's achievements, resilience, innovation, and creativity.
Our awards highlight and recognise entrepreneurs, businesses, charities and community figures from the region who are changing their industries, the economy and society in original and positive ways.
The awards were launched in 2018 by The Great British Expos, which has been organising various corporate events for the last 13 years. They have a strong track record of producing well-managed and attended business events across the UK. Since they launched in 2013, they have helped over 65,000 UK SME’s and have gained the respect of the industry.
It all began in the Thames Valley with the launch of the Thames Valley Expo at Royal Windsor Racecourse in 2012. Since then, the organisation has really expanded, spreading throughout the UK. It has obtained the reputation of being one of the UK’s best providers of regional SME events, offering practically every kind of business-related keynote speaker and providing workshops that offer great advice on helping you equip your business for success. Great British Expos now helps, on average, over 10,000 SME’s annually.
After interacting with so many businesses, charities, and inspirational individuals throughout the region, Great British Expos decided that it was time to reward and recognize some of the best achievements in the business area and launched The Thames Valley Business & Community Awards.
Since launching in 2018, they have become the most prominent award ceremonies in the region, attracting over 1,000 nominations each year. Previous winners have been invited to the House of Lords, secured investment, been booked for international keynote speaking and one even won a commission from Netflix for a documentary.
The calibre of finalists and eventual winners has only increased year on year.
These awards will recognise businesses, charities, and individuals who have contributed in the region. Any business or individual within the Thames Valley can nominate or be nominated.
An independent panel made up of some of the UK’s biggest business leaders, entrepreneurs, charity ambassadors, and regional influencers/figures will judge the nominations.
We are looking for your help in identifying those businesses, charities, and individuals within your business or the region that have made an outstanding contribution over the past 12 months and could potentially be nominated for these awards, you are the ones on the ground and see the achievement as it is happening...
It’s not just about business; it’s about our community
Great British Expos have always given back to our communities and supported social and charitable programs. Through the profits raised at our awards, we have donated over £300K to charities across the UK and now principally support our chosen ‘not for profit’ organisation, Cherishers 811 CIC.
Our mission statement is ‘There is no Business without Community and no Community without Business’.
The founders of Great British Expos, driven by their personal commitment, established their own charity Cherishers 811 CIC in 2017. Cherishers is a beacon of hope, providing meaningful employment to vulnerable members of our community who face barriers to traditional employment. These individuals are retrained to become community champions, reaching out to those who need it most.
Cherishers now employ a team of 30 and help, on average, 500 families a week through their various activities and programmes.
The nominations are judged by an independent panel of some of the UK’s most prominent business leaders, entrepreneurs, charity ambassadors, and regional influencers/figures. Our judges will shortlist nominees, who will be announced prior to the awards ceremony. The finalists and winners will be kept secret until the night of the ceremony.
All shortlisted nominees who attend the award ceremony will be given their signed certificates and will have the opportunity to have their official photos taken on the night of the awards.
